I'm runing 2000 AD Server with all patches installed..
Boot up has been real slow maybe 20 mins... I've been
receiving the following errors in the Event log..

Systems Log Event ID: 3034 The redirector was unable to
initialize security context or query context attributes.

Application Log Event ID: 1000 Source Userenv - Windows
cannot determine the user or computer name. Return value
(1908).

When I try to look at Active Directory I receive the
following error message when it trys to open...

Naming information cannot be located because:
No authority could be contacted for authentication,
contact your admin etc...

Any help would be appriccated...

If you have excluded the possibility of missconfigured DNS settings (all
clients/servers must point to the same internal DNS server and not to
ISP's), then there are some ways of diagnosing this.
First check, that you DNS is ok, next run dcdiag and netdiag on your server.
After that, check your services, that Kerberos Key Distribution Center is
running. Error code 1908 = "Could not find the domain controller for this
domain".

Netdiags, etc. would report clean for us. We saw "Windows cannot determine
the user or computername. Return Value (1908). and "The redirector was
unable to initialize security context or query context attributes" in the
client PC event logs after 30+ minute logins and other odd behavior. We've
noticed some XP update/patch is already adding this value.

Might be your problem....
