Event Log Errors

Is it normal for there to be 1,701 events logged in the space of 1 hour 45mins??
The vast bulk of these errors are error 10001 and a few 10002.
1001 reads as follows;
Unable to start a DCOM Server {8BD1525B-8993-4a0d-8ca2-87Abc8412a33} AS /. The Error "The systemcannot find the path specified" Happened while starting this command: C:\PROGRA~1\YAHOO!\PARENT~1\ypc.exe-Embedding.
It looks like it relates to Yahoo Parental controls all of which were deleted some time ago along with all other BT Yahoo Internet Apps. So why am I getting this vast amount of Yahoo related Errors in the log?
(I've just checked the Event log again and there are another 92 new entries in the time it's taken to write this!)

Any solutions gratefully accepted!

Either something is wrong with the software, or the software is configured
incorrectly or something is wrong with the way your internet connection is
configured. Since the problem seems to be limited to one portion of the
Yahoo software, it is most likely the source of the problem. You could try
reinstalling the software, looking over the tech support pages at the Yahoo
help site or, if available, give their tech support a call.

If you could bear with a relatively new user for a moment..
As I said I've uninstalled the entire application, checked the registry.. all traces of Yahoo are gone_ except in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT where there are numerous entries. Assuming that it is safe to delete these entries, then there would be no trace of the App. on the machine- could it still throw up errors
Sorry if I'm missing something along the way- but I'm still on a steep learning curve with computers!

If an EXE file is throwing up errors on the system, there is a remnant
somewhere that you missed (Yahoo tech support may have complete removal
directions documented somewhere on their site).

Double check the RUN keys in the registry and non-Microsoft services. You
can use start> run> MSCONFIG and check the box to hide MS services. That
leaves a screen of those added by other software. I don't like disabling
services from here but it's a good spot to get information from.
