I am not sure where to put this post. This seems like the
best group to put it in. If there are other locations
perhaps someone from technet or MS could redirect it.
I am passing on some information in reguards to an event
id # 8003. Where one computer on a different subnet is
assuming it is the master browser for the entire network.
I have looked all over trying to find a quick fix for it
and the only thing I ever find is to reset the subnets.
This works for a while ( a month or two )then the error
begins again.
I inquired about this error to my MCSE instructor and low
and behold he had a quick fix for it.
By going in to the command prompt and typing " net stop
browser" It forces the master browser on the local
computer to shut down. ( I believe ) Anyway this is a
quick fix and I havent had any reoccuring problems with
the id error since. It has been over 2 months and ( knock
on wood ) all seems to be fine.
I just thought I would pass this on as there doesnt seem
to be much in technet or on ms to cover this particular
error.
