Event ID: 7031

I have recently loaded XP and get the above event id
coming from rpc. My system does not remain stable enough
to download the SP. I understand that there is a hotfix,
does anyone know what it is?

Event 7031 is the general type of error. If the message goes on to mention
anything about RPC and NT Authority, you have the Blaster worm. If it says
something else, post back with the rest of the info about the 7031 event.

For blaster:
Use Start> Run and type in
shutdown -a
to abort the shutdown.

remove it and how to protect your system against future infection.
