HI,

Try uninstalling your antivirus and then rebooting. If this works, then update your antivirus scan
engine.

Hope this helps,
Gary

I have exactly the same problem. I am in the process of migrating one o
my clients from NT4 to 2000 AD and all workstations to XP. In th
mornings when they restart or start up quite a bit of their service
fail to start with 'The pipe state is invalid'. Now this seemd t
happen only once, maybe twice and then correct it self.

I have recreated all the GPO's thinking that it might be that but n
luck. I have found some articles pointing in the direction o
Windows\MSN Messenger and have updated a client to the latest versio
but it's a bit difficult to say if that solved the problem as it’
intermittent.

Have you guys figured it out... or is there still a need for me t
spend sleepless nights at the office :

We've been experiencing the same problems with both Windows 2000 server
and Windows 2003 servers, although in each case the servers were Smal
Business Servers. We have not experienced this problem with ful
servers.

Just out of curiosity, are either of you running McAfee AntiViru
software? Also, are your servers SBS's
