I have Win2k Pro Build 2194 SP4 and have IIS installed
along with INDEXING SERVICE.
When asking for a FULL RESCAN on MY DOCUMENTS I receive
and event error 4118.
I've stopped the indexing server removed CATALOG.WCI and
restarted the the indexing server and it rebuilds
catalog.wci. However when I ask for a FULL rescan of My
Documents, the error is received again.
There are 169,192 files in 13,662 folders holding
27,131,240,448 bytes on disk for this collection.
U gave 16.1 GB of free disk space that has been recently
defragged.
Catalog.wci is created in c:\inetpub directory and
contains 46 files that consist of 20.6MB of data.
Where forum should I post my issue in and how do I resolve
the error I'm receiving?
The symptoms are that a SEARCH for files will not return
results. i.e. searching for *.doc in MY DOCUMENTS will
return no results when there are files in that directory.
However, if I enable ADVANCED option in the search tab and
enable Case Sensitive, results are returned.
It would appear that INDEXING service incorrectly reports
NO FILES FOUND.
If I disable INDEXING Service through MMC and then perform
the same search results are found w/o enabling ADVANCED -
CASE SENSITIVE.
