Hey there,
I'm encountering a issue on my W2K SP3 DC license server.
In the event viewer, I've received an error, with Event
ID: 202; Source: LicenseService; Description: The product
Windows Server is out of licenses. Use License Manager
from the Administrative Tools folder for more information
on which users are out of compliance and how many licenses
should be purchased.
I've checked various websites & newsgroups, and will
resort to implementing MS article: Q153140.
Before implementing this method, could you please inform
me on possible "return to original state" procedures. By
which, as stated, in the above referenced article, it is
recommended to rename the files Cpl.cfg, Llsuser.lls, &
Llsma.llss. If the procedure fails, and the license
manager fails to reset, can the original files be renamed
back to their original state, hence maintaining the old
license manager state.
Secondly, moving forward, once these files are recreated,
are there any related ramifications that may be
encountered, on other servers, on the domain?
Thanks in advance!
Roger
