I have these error on a Windows 2000 Server:

Event ID: 8003
Source: MRxSmb
The master browser has received a server announcement from
the computer juan that believes that it is the
master browser for the domain on transport NetBT_Tcpip_
{506B1520-7FA8. The master browser is stopping or an
election is being forced

This server is in a VPN with 2 Cisco routers.

In the site where the server is, there are 8 PC's, and in the other site
there are 5 PC's.

Any idea?

Thanks.

It could be caused by a variety of things, from the mundane such as the
computer "juan" not being supposed to but trying to be a master browser
and forcing an election against the server to more complex network
configuration issues. It's hard to say without knowing what the
computer "juan" is supposed to be and on what network segment it is on.
If you know that it isn't supposed to be a master browser then set the
default Master Browser behaviour to "false" at this registry key on the
machine:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters\MaintainServerList

Otherwise see if these can help:

This is not really a registry issue, if you can't resolve the problem
you might want to try posting to the networking group:
