Hi,

What must be done to be sure routers on the network are
NOT forwarding UDP broadcasts to WIN2000 servers ?

Thanks,

Daniel.

Hi Daniel,
It's going to be different depending on the Router... What type of
routers are you talking about.

Thank you,

Hi Alan,

The router is a WIN200 workstation used as a global
firewall (Kerio) for our LAN; the other system is
a WIN2000 server used as WEB and File server.

Thanks a lot.

Daniel,

Brussels.

Windows 2000 does not and will not forward UDP 137 broadcasts over a
subnet. It just does not have this ability. It will forward DHCP Traffic
but the DHCP Relay Agent must be configured on RRAS, this only forwards
DHCP traffic and not any other.

Thank you,

Alan Wood[MSFT]
