I thought I would put this out to the group to see if anyone else has
seen this. First, let me give you my environment. This is Office 2003,
being installed on a Citrix farm, MetaFrame XP FR3, on MS 2003 Servers.
I've got a strange thing going on here with our Office 2003
installation. I have created a transform file and distributed the
Office 2003 applications. In the transform I configure Outlook, which
for the most part works great. It even attaches to the *.pst file on
the network drive as I set up in the configuration. What isn't
happening is the user's Contacts aren't showing up as available in the
drop down box in the address book. The contacts are there in the
Contacts section, but not available in the address book but you can add
them by adding the Outlook Address Book in the application, which makes
them appear after a shut down and restart, but you should also be able
to preconfigure that in the transform file. I have done this, using
Custom Installation Wizard, in the Customize Default Profile, you can
customize additional Outlook profile information by adding Outlook
Address Book. This is there, along with the Personal Folders option
which as I said does work. I have tried exporting profile settings,
etc... but nothing seems to work. I can't get the default Outlook
profile to include the Outlook Address Book automatically, and asking
the users to configure this manually just isn't an option.
This KB explains it well, but it just doesn't work in my case.

I wonder if it might be something unique to Server 2003, or Terminal
Services in 2003. I know Office doesn't deploy some functions/files in
a TS environment, causing some script errors. I also tried to remedy
this in the transform. Has anyone else seen this, or could anyone else
give me a debugging idea? I've tried using a .prf file instead of
relying on the Outlook profile configuration in the transform, but that
ends up the same way.
