I am getting this error - The instruction at "0x7c901010" referenced memory
at "0x01790ca4". The memory could not be "read".

Everytime I try to create a new project under embedded Visual C++ 4.0. I
have gotten SP3 and SP4 but I have yet to be able to even open a project
without the IDE crashing. Can someone help me out and let me know what I
need to do. I am running Windows XP with the latest updates.

Thanks,

Kenneth Lewis

Kenneth,

And how this is related to Windows XP Embedded?
Please post your questions to microsoft.public.windowsce.platbuilder or microsoft.public.windowsce.app.development newsgroup.

PS. If it is XP Pro SP2 you are running over there, disable DEP on EVC.

What is DEP?

Data Execution Prevention.
You can find settings for it in System control panel applet, Advanced page, Performance settings, last page.
