If you decide to install Windows Vista SP1 by using the stand-alone installer
instead of by using Windows Update, you will not have to install the prerequisite
updates separately. The prerequisite updates will be installed by the stand-alone
installer only if they are necessary.

Hi...

How do I uninstall the permanent prerequisite updates KB937287, KB935509 and

Is there a registry tweak that will tell to the installation program that
there is no SP1 on my computer?

I understand now that I might have to reinstall, and in that case I am
afraid a few non compatible hardware add-ons will show up. I have been
updating from a fine working XP because of that.

It may be okay for MS to launch a beta version and upon installation tell
the user that this is a beta and will stop working on a cetian date, but why
take away the possibility to easily uninstall it from the program and
feature section?

Remove it. The evaluation copy notice indicates that you do not have the
final SP1 installed but an earlier beta or release candidate version.
Remove it then follow Carey's instructions to download and install the
final. The prerequisites should make no difference, installed or not.

I have followed Carey's instructions as far as I could.

There is only one problem: I can't uninstall SP1.

I can't uninstall the following: KB937287, KB935509 and KB938371 because
when I right click or click on them there is nothing happening.

Everybody says uninstall SP1, but I have yet to find any commentary telling
me how :-(
