Does anyone know anything about this programme?
Web Support does not work, emails get auto response telling me to use Web
Support.
Sammy does not have answers to my questions.
Just how do I get my questions answered?

I also have no access to the download pages. Autodownload doesn't work
either. I think, they have a problem with their server.
Hope, it will be fixed asap.

This doesn't answer your questions, but it's hard to take seriously any
anti-virus utility that encourages you to ask a cartoon character for
technical support. Sorry.

Maybe they're all working on animating Sammy for the next release.

Works for me. Better check your system.

Sig file updates for v6.1 can be found at

Sig file updates for v6.2 and6.3 can be found at

Do you feel the same way about an Office suite that uses an animated
paper clip for support? :)

I've used them for years but I agree, getting questions answered is hard
work. Their systems are just not user-friendly.

I'm using eTrust EZ Antivirus, version 6.2.1.1. It updates just fine
on my computer, and submitting a tech question is extremely easy. I've
asked 3 questions, and got 3 responses from them, usually after a day or
two. Their responses were typed by an individual and not auto-responses.
Once, I visited a website that had a virus or trojan on it. ETrust EZ
Antivirus blocked the harmful files, and even let me generate a report about
the incident that I sent to Computer Associates. They analyzed the data and
emailed me back that everything appeared clean.

Certainly I don't have trouble with updates. But other things are not
friendly - to me anyway.

Rob

Like you I have used eTrust for years with no problems, but things have
changed.
It does its job and I can auto update OK. The problem is that I have been
reminded to renew even though I have recently done so and have over 300 days
left.
I cannot contact customer support or technical advice because the Web
Support system is unobtainable, tried on two different computers with no
luck. I have tried different e-mail addresses but only get auto response
advising me to try Web Support.
The Sammy thing is a joke really because it gives no info about Web Support
except what it is.
All I need to know is how to contact eTrust and get a proper answer to my
problems.
I have no desire to phone from the UK
I used to have faith in eTrust but it is rapidly on the way out.

I've always used this address to contact Computer Associates about
technical problems: (e-mail address removed)

My etrust subscription is up for renewall and the only reason that I'm
considering changing is that I've not been able to access support for
nearly 1 year. I've tried using IE6 and mozilla no difference!! It
doesn't feel one with confidence with the number of java script error
that you get on the site.

Yes and no. The animated paperclip, dog and other non-sense just
underscores the developer's mistaken belief that consumers like
gimmicks. If I owned a market like they do, gimmicks are the last things
I'd pay my programmers to work on. But, I expect a whole lot more from a
"security" utility than I do from an office suite.
