Hi all
It's an old TriGem Micro-ATX Motherboard (COGNAC) and I'm trying to get rid of the eMachines boot logo/splash screen. There's no setting in the BIOS. I found the mobo manual with the jumper settings. It's not exact as it just says "reserved" for jumper combinations. The Mobo seems to have been popular in a few OEM/ODM machines. I've discovered that jumpers 2, 3 and 4 set to positions 2-3 disables access to the floppy from the OS (probably just one jumper but booting into windows to see which one.....) and jumper 5 disables access to the BIOS setup. J1* is COM2, J6 is clear CMOS, J7 is the audio function and J8 resets the password (info from sticker inside case and in manual). The combination seems to be with jumpers 2, 3 and 4 and I've tried them all but the f**ker's still there!
TriGem's site is crap. The eMachines site: http://www.emachines.com/support/pr...tops&subcat=eTower Series&model=eTower_667ir# expand the + for the spec'. For an old machine it still seems to have some power. 256MB running XP Pro.
Should I clear the CMOS each time or reset defaults after setting the jumpers or is the image "burned" into the BIOS?
It's not a biggy but any info would be great.
