I want to network 3 new pc's, all with XP, and all with internal Ethernet Adapters. I see that my host pc will require TWO network adapters. Instead of installing another internal network adaptyer (Ethernet card), can I simply plug an external network adapter into one of my USB ports, and then connect all three pc's to a hub? Or, would it be better to just connect all 3 pc's and an cable modem to a hub

Thanks for your help

There are advantages to leaving ICS alone and going for the hardware option
instead.
Buy a router/firewall with rj45 ports rather than a hub. Alternatively, if
you're also having to buy the cable modem then get one that has a
firewall/router integrated into it.

With the router, you don't have to use two network cards nor internet
connection sharing and they are about $30.00 to $50.00.
