Estimated scan time bug.

Steps to reproduce.
Open the MS Anti-Spyware window.
Tools> Spyware Scan> Run A Scan Now
Look at the right hand section of the window and compare the
"Estimated scan time:" with the actual time it takes to run a scan.
On my system estimated time is about four times actual time.

I think this is a bug in software in general, the counters are never right.
It varies depending on the machine speed.

How long does it take your scan? Mine takes about 7 minutes, and the
estimated time is "less than 28 minutes" (which is the same 25% as yours).
Accident?

I haven't checked this out, but the long estimates sound about right
(probably a bit short) for "full scans" whereas the scan times I'm hearing
sound like Intelligent Quickscans?

My seven minute scan is a Deep Scan.

My %systemdrive% is I:\ not the typical C:\
Properties for I:\ show
Used space:   6,376,665,088 bytes    5.93 GB
Free space:    2,029,535,232 bytes    1.88 GB
There are about 47,000 files on that partition.
A scan with the following settings takes about seven and one half minutes.

Hmm. It dawns on me as I write this, the sum totals for all local drives is approximately
Used space:   25.7 GB
Free space:      6.1 GB

Maybe the 28 min. estimate is based on all local "Used space" - the maximum that I could select for scanning?

My full scans take 35 minutes--I guess I am getting old and slow (two 6 gig drives, 750 PIII processor.)

I haven't done an Intelligent Quickscan in a good while, lets see:OK - Quickscan takes 13 minutes

The estimate does change--2 minutes for quickscan, 5 minutes for either c or C,D, and E (WIndows is on E), and then 29 minutes if I check Deepscan.

Pretty optimistic on my system. It is definitely based on looking at previous scan results--in fact, there was one post here where the app was "apparently hung" when the user opened this page in the UI--and the issue may well have been the previous scan result which had a VERY lengthy report.
