The "unicorn quote" comes from an article here, for a farmhouse with sea-views coming up for auction .... needs a bit of work
Steffan Rhys, Western Mail
They have long been famed for their colourful descriptions in selling properties, and “like trying to find a unicorn” could be the latest addition to the ever-expanding dictionary of estate agent speak, which already includes:
“A colourful history” – the scene of unspeakable violence
“In a popular area” – the police are often round.
“Multi-vehicular driveway parking facility” – a drive
“Sought-after location” – be prepared to pay far more than seems remotely fair
“Characterful” – decrepit, derelict and dangerous
“Charming/compact” – a star jump will result in two broken wrists, broken ankles and a fractured skull from smashing into the walls and ceiling
“Four bedrooms” – three bedrooms and a cupboard
“Three bedrooms” – two bedrooms and a cupboard.
