Hi,

Our black cartridge ran out a few days ago. My son was printing a birthday
card which was all color; printed fine. I purchased and installed new black
cartridge. Now it will not print black text at all.eg. word documents..etc.
However the color is still working if I try an print a greeting card.

I've only use Espon cartridges. I've also tried cleaning the printer noozles
via the Epson software.

Any suggestions on how I can fix this. Warranty just expired :(

Thanks Much,
Brian

You must be the 48,000th person in this NG in the past 3 months with this
problem.
How about doing a google search -> epson +clogged

This is a ridiculous question but I'll ask it anyway-
You took the yellow tape off the cartridge before inserting it into the
holder?
Otherwise a vacuum lock occurs and no ink goes in.

Think I'm silly eh?
After changing my own oil for more than 25 years a couple of summers ago I
forgot to replace the oil cap.
That was a lot of rags cleaning up.
It happens.

My C-80 documentation does not instruct user to remove any tape. Just
push the cart into place.
