errror reports

we have a problem with accessing my files EG. my computor,my pictures,my
documents,my music or my network places. But when a error report comes up it
says the following error signature
AppName:explorer.exe AppVer:6.0.29900.2180 ModName:msvcrt.dll
ModVer:7.0.2600.2180 0ffset:00037fd4
And on some cases when the error report comes up if you are on the internet
it says it has to close but when you press close the internet doesnt close
and the toolbar at the bottom closes but resets. Hope you can help with our
problem because it is getting on my dads nerves! :)

Have you checked for Virus?
Have you checked for Spyware?
Have you run Windows Update?
Do you have XP Service Pack 2 installed?
Have you run sfc /scannow and extracted any corrupted system files from
latest service pack installed?
