I have a gmail account and have followed the directions to download to my
Windows Mail using POP3. I have gotten an error message. How do I fix the
problem?

Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Server
Response: '-ERR not supported q34pf257777wrq.39', Port: 995, Secure(SSL):
Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

thanks

You have enabled an option that the server does not understand.
Go to Tools, Accounts, select that mail account, Properties, Servers.
Uncheck the box for "Log on using Secure Password Authentication."

Hi Gary,

I did tried that then I got this error message

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server:
'pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Hey Gary,

Please disregard my previous post. It would have beenhelpful if I had read
your directions closely....it worked and was able to download emails.
However the last email in my Windows Mail inbox is March of 2008 so i am
"missing" or I can't see the emails from March- Oct. I checked the "view"
function to make sure "show all messages" was marked. Help..what do i need
to do next????

thanks
