Hi, Needed some and any help I can get with XP embedded.
History of the box :
its a lacie 2TB box with winXP embedded. We started seeing errors on the box
early last week which pointed to a bad HDD. Upon contacting lacie, we were
informeed it would be a couple of days till we receive the replacement drive
so that we can copy the existing data onto that.
Due to aintenance on the power circuits in the office, the drive had to be
shutdown. Now, while booting up, it gets to the "Windows is starting up"
screen and is stuck there. When I do try booting into safe mode, or safe mode
with cmd prompt, i get a BSOD with x0000007b.

What are my options at this point ? Lacie only provides a restore disc which
basically formats the drives and put on their OS image.

Please let me know what my options are. I just want to get all my data off
the drives.

Thank You in advance,

I assume it would invalidate the warranty to open the box up and take
the drive out?

I did talk to them about that. The drives are configured as 4 x 500gb dynamic
drives. They would authorize me to open the case,, so it would potentially
not invalidate the warranty. For me, i rather have the data and loose
warranty.
