Bill

It seems that gcasDtServ is taking up all my laptops cpu
resources. The errors.log file is growing out of
control. I am unable to uninstall the program in normal
and safemode. The uninstaller comes up with an error. My
laptop is basically unusable now. I am unable to shut
down gcasDtServ and deleting the log file does nothing. I
have read all the posts on this subject. Nothing helps.

Hi

You can reverse your PC to time before MSAS install.

Use Spybot, Lavasofts Adaware and Spywareblaster instead.

Wait for MSAS Beta 2 and try again.

I was able to uninstall the program by persistantly ending
the process for about 2 minutes. Once the process was
shutdown, I downloaded the latest installer. This allowed
me to uninstall the the program. Its a shame because the
program was running fine till a few days ago. I am now
keeping it uninstalled till the new version.

P.S. - I have several other computers that run MS
Antispyware with no problems. Strange.

Glad you were able to get the problem solved. I believe your solution is
the right thing to do in this situation--I've done it myself on several
machines.

I'm reasonably sure that this will be fixed in the next beta version we see,
but can't predict when that will be.
