Errors generated when copying forms - Access 2K

I have had the strangest problem for a while now. There are certain forms in my database, that when copied and pasted as another form, create errors. This error occurs when I try to view the module: "Error accessing file. Network connectivity may have been lost." I cannot view the module. Also, when I try to open the form, I get funky messages and when I try to click on simple buttons, like an exit button that just closes the form, I am told that "the expression On Click you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: Error accessing file. Network connectivity may have been lost." The DB does not work right afterwards (even when compacted and repaired) and I have to revert to an old copy. The forms that are causing this work fine, and even when I import them into a new DB, they import with no problems and run. I have read some articles on MS site that seem related to this problem, but I cannot figure out what to do and, more importantly, why this is happening. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I had this same problem.
Take a look at the Microsoft Knowledge Database Article -
304548. When you import or copy forms w/ event
procedures or other code, BEFORE closing the database,
you need to:
- Press ALT+F11 (open Visual Basic Editor)
- Debug Menu, click Compile (databasename)
- After compiling, its OK to close your database.
ALso, probably good idea to get service pack 3
installed. See Knowledge Database Article for details.
Good luck.

I have the same problem
I am considering updating to Office XP will the problem be resolved

on my Office 2k on win XP I have the Vbe6.dll 6.3.91.8

will Office XP cure the problem or do I have to load all the service
packs??

AccessXP doesn't have this problem AFAIK.

OTOH, I always apply Service Packs / Service Releases as soon as I am aware
of them. It is recommended that all SPs / SRs should be applied on your
Windows / Office asap.
