Errors during restart

Every so often I get an error pane like this
one, as the system is shutting down during restart:

I have no idea what it means, and I have no clue
as to what caused it. Like so many mysteries with
a software package as complex as XP, it's amazing
that it runs at all. Any constructive comments
will be appreciated.

I've seen that myself during shutdown only as is your case. I never did
figure out what caused it. Since it never seemed to cause any problems
of any kind I suffered thru it for quite awhile without ever a problem
of any kind manifesting itself.
IIRC I got rid of it by using MS's UPHClean, a little file that sort
of optimizes the registry by having things load in a specific order but
doesn't make any changes TO the registry. But no idea why that fixed
it. In my case anyway. Google for it; it's easy to find. MS is the
best place to get it from of course.

Wonder why MS doesn't tout it.
 
Thanks, JS. I do believe you hit it, because
I've been doing some CD burning lately, with
the Sonic software that came with this Presario.
