Hm. Maybe go poke around in C:\program files\common files and do a
search in that directory for something with "log" in it: *log*.txt
maybe? If you're like me, you have a ton of stuff in the Common Files
folder, so it's like searching for a needle in a haystack. You could
also search on all files by date and see if there's anything in that
folder which has been modified during the timeframe you were inserting
the image.
It sounds as if there's an application of some sort logging stuff on
your system. Not sure what it would be, though. Could be PPT or Office
set up to use some sort of log file. Or maybe an image application of
some sort? Or perhaps it's your antivirus program?
Is this Office installation something set up by someone else? If so, can
you ask them if they enabled any log files? Perhaps that will give some
clues.
Or...if you have the option to save the entire error message or see
what's in it (sometimes you get that with the newer versions of Office),
see if you can find the information in there.
