Hi David,
As it is occurring around the two minute mark try this. Insert a still
image at the very beginning. and stretch it out so that it around a minute
in length. Now do whatever causes the system to freeze. If it still freezes
but now at the three minute mark then you have shown that something at that
physical location (the 3 minute mark) has properties that Movie Maker can
not handle. Assuming that there is a clip at that location that has been
acquired from elsewhere, the indication may be that the codec that Movie
Maker is attempting to use is not compatible. There is a possible solution
to that.
If the freezing still occurs at the two minute position then your
problem is not quite so easy to solve.
Solutions
1) For the first scenario download the program called "Rename Codecs" from
my website. Check out the very short tutorial in the Tutorial's section on
how easy it is to use.
2) For the second scenario. There may be a basic system problem that needs
looking at. Check out the FAQ section and the Tutorial section on SPEED
I have still to add one more paragraph on the Disk Drive tutorial...but have
no time right now....it will appear in the next few hours though...look for
32bit, if you find it I have added the last part.
Best Wishes.....John Kelly
