Error

Whenever I try to import an .avi file, windows movie maker gives me this

I went there and there's really nothing I could do, but download programs that don't do anything. I've also tried contacting the owner of the site... but nothing's working... Maybe there's some other reason these files aren't importing?
 
That's one of the problem codecs on the Problem Solving > Acceleration and
