Can anyone please tell me what this Win XP error message
mean and how I can fix it?
"The directory structure is too deep" I am trying to copy
files from one XP computer to another XP computer using a
crossover cable. This worked fine the day before. Please
help.
Thanks
Neil

==========================================
It means that whatever you are trying to copy is
buried too deeply in some sub directory, meaning that
if you go into Windows Explorer and expand the
folder structure on the left hand side to get to where
the file that you are trying to copy is actually
located, does it end up being something like:

C:\blah blah\blah blah\blah blah\blah blah\blah blah\
blah blah\blah blah\blah\blah blah\blah blah\blah blah\the file

That is what is meant by the directory structure is too deep.

To remedy this, first copy that file to the C:\Shared Documents
folder and then copy it over the network from there.
Or create your own folder such as maybe C:\Network Shares
