After installation: "Windows Defender was unable to complete the update:
0x8024401b"
Any solutions: Martin29

Are you on a managed corporate lan?

Ususally, doing Help, about, check for updates, then opening

notepad %windir%\windowsupdate.log

and scrolling to the end and looking at the final session related to that
update attempt will help clarify this--post the fragment back here if you
want.

I have the same prob. I installed Defender and now some of the Windows
updates will not download. I'm receiving Error Code: 0x8024401B.

Has anyone found a solution? I've uninstalled Defender and still have the
problem. This is certainly not a networking policy problem with my LAN
admin.
