I have an Excel table linked in an Access 2000 Database.
If I use a form to write to the excel table, the form
accepts the data and closes without errors. However, if I
then try to open the linked table, I receive the "External
table is not in the expected format." error. If I try to
open the Excel workbook, it starts to open, and then I get
the "Microsoft Excel for Windows has encountered a problem
and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
error message and Excel closes.
Before attempting to write to one of the fields, I had no
problem opening the linked table and the Excel workbook
directly.
Any idea what may be causing this problem?
Thanks,
Joe
