Error with pps

I use Windows 2000, and PowerPoint 2000 SP-3. Recently when I try to save
presentations as shows (pps) I get an error message
I/O error 6
I can save the file as ppt file but not as pps. This happens with different
files. I have repair, re-installed Office 2000 several times. turn the
computer on and off and prayed in the altars of computer gods. Nothing
helps. Any suggestions?
