I am trying to open a .xlsx file. I am using WinXP Prof. SP3, Office 2003
SP3 (Excel is on v 11.8316.8221). I have installed the Compatibility Pack
for 2007 Office, as well as SP1 and SP2. The Compatiblility Pack is at v
12.0.6425.1000
I have received the xlsx file as an email attachment, and saved it to my
desktop. When I try to open the file, I first get an error message saying:
"Windows cannot find <path\filename>. Make sure you have typed the name
correctly..."
After about 2 seconds I can see the converter trying to scan the file, then
I get a message saying "The converter failed to save the file."
If I have Excel open prior to attempting to open the file, there is no error
message saying windows cannot find the file, however the excel error message
changes to "The converter failed to OPEN the file."
I have removed (Via control panel) the Conversion tool and re-added it with
SP1 then SP2, but still having same issues.
