Error when viewing slideshow

Could someone pls help...
When ever i view slide show in powerpoint my whole PC will hang and this
error "Powerpoint found an error that it can't correct. You should save
presentations, quit and then restart PowerPoint"

I have encounter this message several times a day, and the whole PC hang
causing all my work to be lost....pls help

Ahh yes, PowerPoint's equivalent to the "Blue Screen of Death."
