error when starting Movie Maker

I am experiencing the exact same problem as the 2/24/2007 thread titled
"error as soon as I open". I tried the solutions but are either not working
or too confusing. Also, it seems like a lot of work for me, the consumer, to
do when Microsoft should have a simple solution. Question... is there a
simple way to just reinstall Movie Maker?
 
You could do a repair install of windows, that's probably the easiest way of
repairing a damaged installation.
 
i'm having major problems with movie maker and it won't even let me open the
programme before it's giving me the error. and then it shuts down. did you
get your problem sorted if so any advice?

I was having the same problem and following the advice of Ingster I have
uninstalled Internet Explorer 7 and it seems to have cured the problem. I am
now using Explorer 6
