Error when starting MM 2.1

Hi there,

I had MM working before but now when I start it I get an error pop-up:
Caption: Windows Movie Maker
message "Type mismatch".

Then it starts but I get no video effect anymore.
I did verify (according to other psts) the dll's and reregistered them it
does not seem to help...

Any hint?

Could be a problem with the last project you worked on if Movie Maker is set
to automatically load the last project.
Try renaming or moving the last project you worked on and then opening Movie
Maker.
If you don't remember which project it was just drag the entire directory to
another place on the harddrive and see if it works.

Thanks for the tip but I forgot to anwser that it didn't work (I apologize
for the delay).
As a matter of fact, the "open last project" option is not turned on.
Any other hint remains welcome.
