Hi

I was wondering if anyone has seen this issue before.

We've rolled out approx 80 units with office 2003 installed (via GPO).
Great.. not a prob, all went well.

Issue I have is that when i move the users mailbox from one store to another
in exchange, the move is fine, however on the outlook client i get an error.

"Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. The set folders could not be opened. The
server is not available. Contact your administrator if this condition
persists"

Ok.. i get that bit :) The only KB reference i can find is to do with
changing the .pst from the default in the custom MST. However we have not
done that.

If anyone has any ideas i would be grateful :)

Many Thanks

Does creating a new mail profie help? If the mailbox move happened over a
day previous, do you still get the error? If no, then the problem is the
replication time.

Hi Milly

Thanks for the reply.

There is no 'replication' as such as this is only 1 server that we have
exchange on. There are 2 DC's however but im not sure that replication is the
issue.

In order to resolve i go through control panel, mail, remove the offline
file and then recreate it. Sometimes this fails and i have to recreate the
entire outlook profile.

I've had a look through our custom MST file and PRF and there are no changes
from the default. All we do is basicly add the licence key and organisation
name. In the PRF it sets the username and exchange server only.
When you look at the outlook configuration it stores the offline file in the
default location.

I think It's got to be something in the MST file or way we roll it out as
building a machine with office from a CD has no issues at all. In fact i
managed to move a test mailbox while logged in no issue :)

Bit baffled ... i was wondering if there was a way we could 'globally'
change this without user intervention and the existing installations. I.e
change the offline file location. (assuming offline files are the problem and
im not barking up the wrong tree)

Thanks
