error when making a project in asp.net web application

Hello.

I have installed .net frameworks as well as visual studio.

I am able to make projects in windows application but I cannot make web
application.

Wheneve i try to create a new web application, "Visual studio .NET has
detected that the specified Web server is not running ASP.NET version 1.1.
You will be uable to run ASP.NET Web applications or services.

And I have Microsoft.NET Framework 1.1 is already installed in this machine.

Any of you guys know why this is happening?
