error updating excel data from access

I just applied the upgrade to Access 2003 and now the linked spreadsheet that
I was updating via a query is no longer editable. I have tried creating a
new link to no avail. Does anyone know what might be causing this? It was
working in the earlier version of 2003.

Yes. A lawsuit. Microsoft lost, so they had to remove this feature from
Access. Office 2003 SP-2 and Office 2002 SP-3 both cripple this feature in
Access. Please see the following Web page:

And you can't uninstall Office 2003 SP-2. However, if you installed Office
2003 before Microsoft lost the lawsuit, then you have a right to keep
Microsoft Access 2003 at SP-1 level. If so, to get this feature back you can
uninstall Office 2003, reinstall it from CD, and apply SP-1 only.
