Mary Anne

Up until last week, I had no problems. Now, when I try to
move mail items from my inbox to any of my folders, I get
an error message. It says: Can't move the items. The item
could not be moved. It was either already moved or
deleted, or access was denied. Any suggestions?

It's still not working. Any other ideas?

Disable the preview pane, clear empty Deleted Items folder and try again.

.

What service are you running? POP3, IMAP, Exchange, HTTP, other...?

Try running scanpst.exe if you are using a pst-file.

Also, how many items are you trying to move at the same time? Try to move
fewer messages at once.

How do I know what service we have? The "about"
says "Microsoft Outlook 2000 SR-1 (9.0.0.4527)" I'm not
using a pst file, and I'm only trying to move one message
at a time. I've been doing this for years - the problem
just started happening last week. Everyone else in the
office has no problems.

You are running an Exchange service then. The next step would be to recreate
(do not use copy) your mail profile in Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show
Profiles. Ask your administrator for the settings for your mailserver. If
this doesn't fix it's very likely that your mailbox is corrupted or holds
some strange items in them. In this case you need to remove the suspicious
items or your administrator needs to recreate your mailbox on the server.

I'm having the same problem and none of the solutions discussed above worked. I'm trying to move messages from one pst to another. The messages originally came from Exchange Server
