When I run dcpromo to demote a dc, everything runs ok for a couple minutes, then the following error occurs (anti-virus has been removed)

The operation failed because:
Failed to configure the service NETLOGON as requested
"Not enough storage is available to process this command"

The server is a PIII 1GHZ, 768 MB memory, and about 3GB free on local disk. Our AD database is only about 100 MB. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hello Sheldon,

The dc appeared not to be able to update the netlogon service registry key.

Do you have another DC in your environment, that you can export the
Netlogon key from?

-- HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NetLogon

If yes, export the Netlogon key from another domain controller and import
it on the dc giving us problems.

You should thanbe able to run dcpromo to demote the server.

Thank You.

Diana.
