I hope someone can help... I have an error when I click
start and try opening IE... a error box comes up
saying "This module was compiled with a trial version of
Delphi. The trial period has expired"

So I tried installing XP pro again (repair)
and it still has the same problem
I can open a slimbrowser window and go on the web but not
IE, control panel , search from the start button or from
the program files directories for eg. IE

This problem happened when I downloaded a zip file from a
reliable source and on completion I clicked on open.
From there it all turned to Crap.

This error hangs the system for up to 30secs and then
returns ok .

Please help I am desperate
Cheers

well, go to google and search on "This module was compiled with a trial
version of delphi" and you get a few hits. whatever you installed out of
that zip was built with a trial version of delphi which comes with a 60 day
expiration built into whatever is created.

Thanks for the suggestion but I have done that already...
no luck finding a match to this prob.
To make it more clear... the zip is ok as I can open it
and it is just a txt file and a couple of php files
zipped up. So Its not that is it. Maybe it didnt actually
occur at that point... I wish I knew
Page 2 has someone else with exactly the same problem...
so that means we would have had to have downloaded the
same file from same location to duplicate this event.
Dont you think its odd that so far 2 people have posted
in the last 12 hours the same thing... how many are out
there that haven't found this news group with same prob.

this is true, it could be anything you installed in the last 60 days. that
hamster site admits the problem, there must be others out there that have
done the same thing either accidentally or on purpose. i would go back and
look at anything you installed in that time period... if its a cheap time
checker you could try to set your clock back a few weeks and see if you can
see what plugin or toolbar you have for ie is there that could cause the
problem. otherwise try uninstalling anything that may be an addon for ie.

Hmm ok I will have a look at that suggestion :)
Actually I have been uninstalling programs and so far
nothing to get rid of the problem.

I see there is another post just came in with the same
again... looks like it will be an ongoing thread until
someone gets the answer.

I will try the time clock now and report back the results.

Okay Its fixed :)
You need ad aware ...latest version and update

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

Install , run and delete the junk...
It appears to be part of the sah (shop at home ) junk
which came with a install of grokster.
I knew it was still inthere but couldnt find it.. ad
aware did the job ... spy bot didnt

Thanks for all the suggestions

Paul,

I got the same error today, 11/26/03. I cannot use explorer or get
into "My Computer" without getting that error message, amongst others.
Let me know if you get the problem corrected.

check the other threads about delphi, apparently adaware removes the
offending app.
