Has anyone heard of SupportSoft? I am running Vista Home premium and every
now and then when I open or click a link in IE I get this message. "You are
not logged in as Admin. Close program and log in as Admin." Or close to
that. Well, I am logged on as Admin. The message also contains
"SupportSoft" which makes me feel that this is what is making IE close. When
I do a search in my system for the SupportSoft I can not find it anywhere.
Has anyone experienced this also?

Hi,

From IE, click Tools/Internet Options and go to the Programs tab. Click the
button the "manage addons" and search through these fora SupportSoft plugin.
Disable it from loading and it should resolve the issue.

I had supportsoft. I believe it is the program BellSouth DSL uses for their
desktop support module. Or was it Dell? Either way, it isn't spyware (well
not malicious anyway) or the such, but it does hog a lot of resources. I
removed both BellSouth and Dell's desktop support module. No more SupportSoft.

I believe it's a Dell support program. You should be able to remove it
via Programs and Features.
