Error StartDocPrinterCall not issued when printing.

In my windows 2000, when i want to print something, for example from
notepad, y receive this error msg:

"A StartDocPrintCall was not issued"

I try reinstalling printers and restarting the spooler service but
everything its the same

somebody can help me with thisone?

I suspect you'll find that the spooler service is no longer running after
you get this error because it crashed silently. Check the event log for
confirmation.

Let me guess - this is SP3 or SP4, right? This seems to be a chronic
problems with SP3 and SP4. MS claims it's due to buggy print drivers, but
I'm extremely skeptical of that explanation.

it's a lab server without service pack, and the spooler it's running, i try
restarting it but its the same thing

Then maybe someone else has an idea, but I don't. I would recommend
installing SP2 and seeing if that solves the problem.
