I am on Windows ME. I was experiencing some recent problems with
SYSQK32.DLL, KERNEL32.DLL and ISTSVC.EXE error messages on IE5. I downloaded
IE 6 on 12/30/04 and now cannot connect to the Web via my ISP provider
(Juno). I now receive the following message each time I attempt to connect
to the Web:

Error Signature
AppName:ieexplore.exe
AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106
ModName: sysqk32.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0
Offset: 0001c7d3

I have run anti-virus (McAfee) and removed several "bad" folders. Any help
would be greatly appreciated!

sysqk32.dll does not appear to be a Microsoft file.
What You Should Know About Spyware
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/devioussoftware.mspx

CAUTION!!!!! Before you try to remove spyware using any of these programs ,
download a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
your internet connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will
enable you to regain your connection.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Thanks for the reply. How can I download the programs mentioned below to my
computer when it cannot connect to the Web? I'm participating in this
discussion group from another pc.

Thanks again for the follow up! I have downloaded the files to a cd and this
weekend I will move the files to my pc desk top to run them. Does it matter
whether I run the files in Safe Mode or not?

This past weekend, in Safe Mode, I repaired Winsock, used Adware (which
identified 213 unwanted files - I quaranteed/deleted all), cwsshredder (which
found no bad files) and still receive the same message when connecting to the
internet as listed in my first post. I did notice that my pc appeared to be
conntected to the internet though as Juno was tracking the amount of time my
pc was connected to the internet and McAfee downloaded a virus scan update.

Any next steps?

OK...thanks...will do. By the way, I ran HijackThis over the weekend also,
but could not save the log - is it supposed to be saved as a certain file
type?
