ERROR SAVING TO DVD

Help!!! I waited 2 hours for my movie to finish saving and then be put onto
my blank DVD (I did 2 before this one and they turned out fine). While it
was in "checking media" mode, the message came up that Movie Maker
experienced an "error saving the movie to DVD". When I attempted it again it
gave the error message about "incorrect speed". Why is this happening after
2 successful tries? 2 hours is a long time to wait just to find there is
something wrong. What did I do wrong and how can I fix it? I am using what
I was told was name-brand, good media and I keep all my movies under 2 hours
(even though the DVD says it captures up to 4GB.

Thanks so much!

You should save your finished movie to your hard drive in DV-AVI format,
then use your third party burning software (Roxio, Nero et al) to create and
burn the DVD.

Hi Cari
I tried what you suggested. It seemed to be working fine - that is until
there was only 10 seconds to go (99%). Then the error message that "MM2 has
encountered a problem and must shut down" (1.5 hours down the drain). Then,
when I clicked on "OK", another error message appeared that said "DrWatson
Postmortem Debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close." My pc is
brand new, has 512MB RAM, WinXP SP2, and 160 GB HDD. My movie was made from a
downloaded file (very trusted source) and all frames are good. Since I don't
know much about this, should my settings be set a certain way? It went fine
until the last 10 seconds of saving to my hard drive in the DV-AVI format as
you suggested.

Sorry Cari, I forgot something....my video files I am attempting to make a
movie of are .wmv files

One last question: what should I look for as a problem when MM2 freezes after
I hit the Save button to save my movie to my hard drive in AVI format. I have
plenty of memory and space. Will defraging help this also?
