Every time I turn my computer on I get the following error reports In the event viewer
Amli:ACPI BIOS is attempting to read to?from an illegal IO port address (0 x 75) which lies in the (0 x 74 - 0 x 76) protercted address range. This could lead to system instability

When I go to the help page it suggests my BIOS might need upgrading. Is there any other way of avoiding this error message appearing?

Tried updating the BIOS maybe? like it suggests?......its really easy to do
and won't take anything more then 5-10 minutes of time, the equivalent of
what time you spent writing your message. =)

If you need help doing so, just ask. =)

No I haven't tried it because I'm frightened of doing
serious damage. Can you help me here?

Many thanks

Flashing the BIOS is risky, updating the drivers are not........

I've never, thats NEVER so far had any problems updating drivers or flashing
a BIOS.

What make is the motherboard in your computer?

The details are:
Board: ECS K7VMM 1.0
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 07.00T 04/02/01

Hi,

Thanks for that advice, and if you think it's ok I'll
have a go (with your help!).

How do I do an update?
