I receive error reports that
iexplorer.exe/msnmgr.exe/wmplayer/ddxdllreg has
called/performed an illegal function in dxtrans.dll
followed by closure of the respective program. Prior to
this I was advised that ie6 was unable to repair itself
(via system information tool) and that I should reinstall
ie6. This I tried only to be advised that 'An error or
exception occurred while calling the function Dll Register
Server in WINDOWS\SYSTEM\Dxtrans.dll'. Any ideas on how I
may resolve the problem? Thanks for any help.
Since you did not post necessary information such as the version of Windows
or IE you are using, I can only make a general suggestion. You might try the
following and see if it helps:

It is possible you have a hijacker, malware, spyware or parasites on your
system that can cause this problem. In addition to running your updated
anti-virus program, you should do the following to be sure none of these
are present on your system. Follow all instructions carefully:

Be sure to run CWShredder, Ad-aware and Spybot.
Also be sure to use the HijackThis. Please do not post your log to this
newsgroup, but to the SpywareInfo or the Aumha HiJackThis forums

evaluate your log and advise you of the necessary steps to clean your
system.

(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
