Hi,

I have Windows Me and Internet Explorer 6. When my browser
crashed or an error happened I used to have a box pop up
saying it was the Error Reporting Tool and if it wanted to
send the information to Microsoft. Which I used to do.

A while back I started having some problems with my
computer and so I downloaded Internet Explorer again
thinking it would fix it.. it didn't as my problem wasn't
Internet Explorer related (I fixed the problem another
way), but now since I reinstalled INternet Explorer I
seems to have somehow lost the Error Reporting Tool
somehow. Nowdays it just tells me an error has occured and
it has to shut Internet Explorer. How can I enable it
again so that it can send the errors to Microsoft?

Hello Luke,

Check for the existence and value of the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\

IEWatsonEnabled = (DWORD) 0

A value of 0 disables Internet Explorer Error Reporting, and a value of 1
enables it (removing the key also enables Internet Explorer Error
Reporting).
