I'm devistated. I'm in the middle of a project and everytime I launch
Windows Movie Maker I receive the "...has encountered a problem and needs to
close." error window. I stay current with all updates and have only used
this program 4 or 5 times, but I really love it. I can't seem to
uninstall...was hoping to unistall and reinstall...fixing the problem...to no
avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am having the same problem !!! I have two projects saved and now I can't
get back into the program. Anyone have the solution?

=============================
You fail to mention your OS...if you are
running Vista...disregard the following.

Some users have reported problems
after installing IE7. If this applies to your
situation ...uninstalling IE7 may be worth
a try.

I've also seen a report that disabling the
ffdshow codec could be the fix. To accomplish
this...open Movie Maker and go to...Tools /
Options / Compatibility tab...Uncheck...
ffdshow / OK.

Solutions that work for
me may not work for you

Proceed at your own risk

Try moving or renaming the project files and then open Movie Maker.
This will tell you if it is crashing because it is trying to automatically
load a project.
