Error reading drive

Hi

I had the new beta installed and my stupid kid downloaded
a crack. All of a sudden the spyware dialog was displayed
and asked if it could delete an intrusion. This happened
again and again. It seems the site had sent varoius
viruses etc. I clicked to have the spyware beta remove the
problems. At the time, everything seemed OK.
The problem started when I rebooted. Just after the bios
runs I receive this error. " Error reading drive".
The PC will not continue to boot after the message.
This is great fun. I justed finished upgrading to Xp pro
and installing a million microsoft patches and SP2. Also
had McAfee installed and it still didn`t save us.

Have you attempted to boot to Safe Mode and run MSAS/McAffee from
there? :
